LOVE and SMILES Scrapbook page and chevron border svg png

Yesterday I was supposed to do homework and housework and yardwork....but instead I did a scrap page!  I took these photos as part of the OH SHOOT class at Jessica Sprague.  If you have a DSLR camara and don't know how to use all those settings, I highly recommend that class.  I had a great point and shoot, but dropped it/broke it, bought another, dropped it off the side of the boat, then bought a less expensive one and hated the photos - so I really haven't had many photos to scrapbook.  Last year I bought a Canon Rebel but I just haven't been able to figure it out (well, that and I'm a clutz so I'm afrade to take it outside).  I just took that class, so armed with knowledge of how to use it, a good camera strap and a super cute camera bag I got for Mothers Day, I think I'm ready to get out and take some scrap worthy photos.   The papers are Echo Park and the 12 inch chevron border is todays freebie (svg or png).  Thanks for looking!

Painted Dresser, Dandelion vinyl on the wall, and a free border flourish svg

This is my mothers dresser she has had since she was little and she had decided it was time to get rid of it.  I couldn't bare to let it go, but I didn't like the color and it was badly scratched from all the years of use.  So I decided to paint it and put it in my dining room to hold candles, table linens, etc. The handles have 2 inch holes and as much as I wanted to replace them, I couldn't find any with 2 inch (and I really didn't want to fill) so I painted them the slate gray and thought I'd put vinyl around the handles.  Well, I made a few swirls in inkscape, but I didn't like the vinyl around the handles, so that leads to today's freebie svg.

I think they will still be great for scrapping or on a card.  Next I thought maybe a large image - like a dandelion blowing would look nice.  Tried it, didn't like it, but not wanting to waist a cut image (its cut at 20 inches tall so it was a good chunk of vinyl), I put it on the wall:

So for now I think I will leave the dresser plain and keep looking for some older 2 inch handles.  Thanks for looking.

Mothers Day Card with Flower Shop and Cindy Loo

Whoo...that's the longest I've ever gone between posts.  Today I'm sharing the Mothers Day card I made my mom for last weekend.  The flourish is from Cindy Loo (cut at 2 inch and flipped).  I used the negative space for it and layered it over patterned paper, then made the flower from Flower Shop at 2.25 and 1.75 inch.

Tomorrow I will share my bigger project that took me all week (there will be vinyl!) and share an svg, so please stay tuned!

A few cards and stamp svg

Remember me?  I've been so very busy working on big house projects that I haven't had much time for blogging.  Today I have the day off and its raining so I thought I would make a couple of cards and participate in a couple challenges.  I made this first card for a house mouse challenge AND for challenge 82 at Cooking with the Cricut .  I used my cricut to make a standard size A2 card base in a stamp shape and used  Stampa Rosa #212-signing a card-  stamp.  The stamp has a blank card so I wrote in Dear friend,  Wish you were hear, (heart), and colored the rest with prismacolor pencils, SU ink and some Bic markers.  I love the house mouse stamps and buy them, but rarely use them because I'm not so good at the coloring part.   This quarter I went back to school (another reason I haven't had much spare time for blogging) and am taking some art classes, so maybe that will learn to color/blend and I will finally get to use them!  I'm posting the card base below as this weeks freebie svg.

My second card is done with Wall decor and more and the third was done with little stamping up stamp and some punched flowers/gems.   Craft time is over, better do my homework and go build myself another raised garden bed (we have 6 done, 2 to go!)

Tree trunk TY (thank you) card and svg

This weeks freebie svg is a tree trunk/lower branches, 12 leaves and a "tire".  I used a primacolor pencil to engrave the tree with a heart and TY.  The flowers are a MS punch and I used stickles in the centers of them because everything is better with stickles! Thanks for looking!

Christmas Card photo shoot 2011 scrap page

I haven't done much scrapping lately (since I can't really figure out my new camera and haven't been taking many photos) but  The Shabby Shop was having a scrap challenge with $25 in product up for grabs, so I thought I'd give it a go.  This was done using their free template and their products : SugarPlum Dreams kit and Holiday Magic kit.  I think we took about 20 photos trying to get Daisy to keep that hat on and look at the camera.  Thanks for looking!
