Cindy Loo Birdhouse treat box

This little birdhouse is just the right size for a little yellow chick and some chocolate eggs!
To make one:

Cut two birdhouses at 5.5 inches, decorate as desired (one for each side of the basket)

Cut a strip of coordinating cardstock at 6 3/4 inch.  Score at 1/2 inch from each of the long sides and
 2 1/2 from each of the short sides.  Snip the lines that I have marked in brown (at the 2 1/2 lines up to the 1/2 inch line).  This will give you 3 tabs to attach to each birdhouse.  I would start with the center tab marked A attached to the bottom of  one of you  birdhouses, then put "B" on along the sides
following the angle of the birdhouse.

Glue your second birdhouse on to the back of your basket, tabs are already in the right places since they are identical to the front.

Attach some kind of handle if you wish - I used a 3/4 inch strip of the same cardstock attached with ribbon (punch holes in handle and side, tie ribbon with a knot, put tails through the holes, tie another knot) , but you could also use brads, just use a ribbon, or even leave it without a handle. 

And, of course - fill with something cute and yummy!

A few cards...

I'm so bad about buying embellishments and then not wanting to use them, but today I broke out a bag of flowers and decided to use the whole bag to make some cards for my stash.  These are a few of them, the flourish is from Cindy Loo and the Just because shaped card is from Paper Lace.  Thanks for looking!

This was done using a flourish from Cindy Loo, cut at 3.5 and a Martha butterfly punch.  The paper is DCWV/GP/Coordination and the pearls are Stampin Up.  Here is a sneak peak at next weeks svg freebie....

Last two Pink Stamper Challenges DONE!

HA! I did all 12, Here is  my scrapbook page, border element from Paper lace, altered in DS, and the journal label is from Storybook.

And my final project is something summer themed, so I made an end of the year gift card holder for a teacher.  The gift card holder was done with Cindy Loo, stamp/punch is Stampin UP.

My Mothers Day card

Happy Mothers Day to all you Mom's.  First I have to share the card my son gave me today because it is absolutely the cutest thing ever.                                                   Here is the front:

Last (sort of) , I have not been crafting because 1: I have been feeling like c*** for the past 2 weeks, and 2: because we sold our house and I've been packing, both have ruined my mojo.   I see The Pink Stamper had a HUGE giveaway challenge going yesterday, 12 challenges and 12 prized, along with a grand prize of an image - which I would love but would never buy for myself.  My goal today is to make up for the past two weeks by doing all 12 challenges (not in order).   My first one was challenge #4, make something Mothers Day themed (good thing to do since I didn't have a card for my mom yet).
So here it is:

For some reason I can't get that photo to turn :(  The doily and inside doily shadow is from Paper lace at 4.75 inch and the flower is from Cindy loo at 4.  The stamps are from SU and the words I just printed out (font is Diggs my heart).

My second card of the day is for challenge 11, do something with pink, green and black.  No cricut on this one, but I did use a cuttlebug and punches, stamp is from Stampin Up.

All Natural Scrapbook page

Here is my take on the May sketchy challenge.  The papers are from Stampin Up (except for the textured dark gray, which is just from my stash), the circles I cut from GeorgeBS, the vine is from CindyLoo, and the title is from Straight from the nest.  The leaves and straight stitch are just from my sewing machine.

Cindy Loo thank you card, curly frame svg

Just a quick card and svg to share today.  I cut the base from white cardstock using the svg below (available for one week).  It imports as a larger card, so I checked the "keep proportions" and then made my height 8.5 inches so that it would fit in an A2 envelope.  I stamped with a background stamp and added a strip cut with a MS punch.  The flower is from Cindy Loo cut at 2.5, I cut the shadow layer twice and used pop dots between them for dimension.  I also added a crystal to the flower instead of the center it cuts - I love sparkle!  Thanks for looking!

Altered shutter Spring wall hanging

I found this cute little shutter at the Re-Store for $4 several months ago and have been trying to think what to do with it.  Today I decided it was time to get it up on the wall.  I cleaned it up a bit with just a damp cloth, then added vinyl to the top and bottom (image from Cindy Loo cart).  Then I cut out some words and frames to add to it.  The frames I cut also from Cindy Loo at 4 inch.  I added bling to each one and a nice  Spring-y photo.  They are light enough that I can just attach with a small glue dot, so if I get tired of them or want to use if for a different season, they are easy to take off.  The flowers are just from a small fake stem from Micheals just stuffed in the shutter.  I was going to add a pinwheel or something near the bottom, but its a small shutter so I think I will just leave it for now- don't want to overdue it.

A couple more cards

Still sketch lifting, I'm moving onto scrapbook sketches next.  The top one was done with Paper Lace and Cindy Loo (flower).  The next one was done with paper lace (flower border cut at 3/4 inch) and SU/sizzix butterflies.  The pink, very glittery paper is from the new DCWV Playtime stack,  and the top layer of flowers on the borders were also done with dazzling diamonds-so this card *SPARKLES*.  Both sketches were lifted from PaperCrafts Magazine.  Thanks for looking!

Picking Apples Scrapbook page

Wow, it's been 10 days since I posted, that's a record for me.  Why?  Because I've been reading a book.  That's why I don't read books, once I start, I can't put it down until I'm finished.  The housework goes undone, kids get away with just about anything, laundry piles up, and I read.  So, it was a good book (Farm City), but today I thought I'd post a new page.  These photos were taken last fall, when both the boys were missing front teeth.  The tree and flourish are from Cindy Loo, the label is from Lacy Labels, the apple from doodlecharms, the A and P are plantain schoolbook (and the rest of the title/journaling I printed).   The paper is from DCWV and SU.  The tree apples blend in a bit with the background paper, but less so in person, and it was really the only color that looked good behind the tree - I tried every color under the sun. 
Yesterday I ran across some photos that are perfect - at least in my head- for some paper I've been hoarding, so hopefully I can get that page done up this weekend too.   I also have a fun little Easter Svg to give away as soon as I can make a card with it...is it too early for Easter?

Cindy Loo and Lacy Lables friend card

Today's share is a card done with Cindy Loo and Lacy Labels - the Doily is from CL is cut at 4 inch, the friend and the inside(2.5inch)/outside (4inch) frames from LL.  The stamp is a new stamp I got from stampin up - well actually its an old retired stamp but new to me.  I answered an ad on the craiglist the other day for some older stamps.  The gal lived about 1/2 hr away from me but happened to be coming to my neighborhood for a football party.  So there we were in the parking lot of the local mini-mark, pitch dark out, about 20 degrees out, two women  digging through the trunk of her mini-van-going through stamps. It makes me laugh still to think about how it looked- like the stampers version of some other kind of "deal".   Anyway, I like this set because of the verse: May today be a happy memory with the promise of many beautiful tomorrows - which is stamped inside.

Here are my Christmas Thank you cards:

I actually made a bunch of the snowflakes back in Early Dec, so I can't remember what size I cut or even what cart - I think Christmas Solutions.  I ran them through the xyron and covered them with dazzling diamonds (if your making one, why not make 20!).   Having them all ready ahead of time made assembling thank you cards a breeze -I should make up embellishments ahead of time more often.  They are very simple but with the glitter, pop dots and sparkly centers they are still fun in person.   Thanks for looking!

A toybox for Lucy

A few years ago I bought a toybox at a garage sale.  It had a bad green paint job but I liked the shape and size and just knew someday I would need it.   My good friends sister just had a little girl and we decided it was time to fix up that box and make it super cute.  We started by painting it white, then came the vinyl!  I used Storybook font for her name at 8 inches in brown vinyl, then did corner flourishes at 6 inches (also storybook).  Next we did a branch (Straight from the nest, 4.75 inch) and an owl (Storybook, 4.75 inch) for the front.  For the sides we did the deer and squirrel from Cindy Loo (both at 7 inch).  I vinyl I used was cricut brown, quickcutz baby pink, and stampin up pretty in pink (on the deer).   I wish I could find the original photo of the box before painting, its an amazing difference.  I soooo hope Lucy's mommy likes it. 

Just a Jar

I'm cleaning my cupboards and trying to "thin".  I have a bunch of jars I've been saving for one reason or another.  This was a jelly jar that I really liked the shape of.  I just couldn't throw it away so I decided to turn it into a vase for the bathroom.  I used Cindy Loo (I nudged/welded two of the borders together, then sized to fit the jar in DS..hint, use a string around the jar to know exactly how long to make the border).  I cut it from black vinyl, then added some stones and a ribbon around the threads of the jar...and then of course, added some fresh flowers from the yard.  Thanks for looking!

Altered notebooks

I picked up a bunch of those composition notebooks a couple weeks ago at Target and started altering them for the neighbor kids for back to school.  I was down to my last two and decided I better make one for myself, so I made one for my house ideas (my hubby and I are thinking of building).  For mine I used Lacy Lables (Home, cut at 4 inch) and I just wrote in OUR in pen for a personal touch.   The key is just an uncut I bought from the hardware store, hopefully by next year it will have a door.   My other one I made for my niece.  I'm going to save it to go with her birthday gift for next month and I used Cindy Loo cut at 3.5 inch.  There are lots of great frames on that one, you could do one with each subject.  I love these because you can really make them for under $1, and make them in under 10 minutes.  You don't even need a cricut for these, leftovers from those part used scrap kits (you know you them) will work great!  Thanks for looking!

The step by step: 

 Pick two pieces of pattern paper, cut front piece to 9 3/4 by 7 in, and andhear to front (I use an atg gun right at the edge, but modgepodge or SU glue stick also work well).

Cut back paper to 9 3/4 by 10.  Use paper edge punch now if desired., adhear back piece (start at the back edge and wrap around the front since the back edges are hardest to line up).

Tie ribbon around book cover and add embellishments.

Use a file or sanding block to round corners and distress/smooth edges.

Quickest card ever- Cindy Loo doily card

Quickest card ever, this is from Cindy Loo at 4 inch, I tied ribbon on the side, used gems in the flower centers, and put white cardstock in the writing space inside.  My mother wants some blank notecards to give as a gift, so this is one of those. It was so quick and I like it so much...I think I'll make more......

the COOL tub scrap page

This is an 8x8 page, but the proportions for the sketch are for two 3x6 photos.  The frame is from Lacy Labels(cut at 6.5 inch), the sun if from doodlecharms ( cut at 2 inch, theres one I haven't used in a while!), the flourish is from Cindy Loo (one inch), and the sunglasses are from PaperDolls.  The papers are all Stampin' UP!  The journaling I did on the computer, printed on cardstock, then cut into strips.  The fonts for the title are HOBO std (free) and CAC Pinafore (I paid for that one, but it was worth it!).

Last year our hot tub heater went out at the start of summer, but we didn't fix it until close to fall.  So all summer the boys had the "cool tub" as they called it, to play in.  This year it works fine, but they asked us to turn it way down so they could again have it for the summer.

My new laundry room foot stool decorated with vinyl (Cindy Loo)

Look at this cute stool I found at a garage sale yesterday for $1!  OK, it wasn't so cute when I bought it, but I brought it home, sanded it, painted it black, distressed it a bit, put a clear coat on it, then decorated it with vinyl...now its cute!  I have a duet washer and dryer and they are on those pedestal drawers.  Being only 5'2'' (and that's a stretch) I can never reach the cupboards above them, so I've been looking for a footstool to keep in the laundry room.  I used Cindy Loo for the elements and the vinyl is Certainly celery (from Stampin Up) and Orchid from a bulk buy I did (both are oracal brand vinyl).

Cindy Loo wall vinyl project

I got a few of my latest/favorite scrap pages up on my wall but they were looking a bit bare, so this weekend I added some vinyl cut with Cindy loo cartridge.  The corner flourish is cut at 6.5 inch (I scrap 8x8), the little ones are about 1.25 The words were cut with SCAL2 (font: Lucidia Bright).

Pink Cindy Loo Squirrel card and Lacy Labels sneak peek

I have another Cindy Loo card to share.  The squirrel is cut at 2 inches, the hello at 3/4.  The wood grain stamp is Stampin Up. 

Also today I had to exchange something at Walmart, they were fully stocked with the new carts. Unfortunately I didn't have a camera, so I can only share photos of the lacy labels. I'm not letting myself open it yet (I have to earn it clocking some exercise hours). But in the meantime, enjoy the sneak peek below....
