Kids at Play Scrap page, tree svg freebie

This week I challenged Stacie to do a scrap page.  I see she posted hers today so I thought I better get on it!  In my defense, I'm getting new carpet tomorrow so I'm trying to get painting/other stuff done, so I've not had much spare time this week (because as a SHM, I usually have SOOOO much spare time anyway, lol).
So here is my page, the three trees and the swish are done in inkscape and are today's freebie svg.  The fonts used were LD Coffeehouse (thanks Yolie) and Horseshoes and Lemonade.  Thanks for looking!

Zoobaloo Congratulations baby card

I made this for a friend who just announced she is expecting.  Both the branch and the nest/bird are from Zoobaloo.  In retrospect, I wish I would have hit the flip botton on the branch, but too late.  Both were cut at 1.5 inches.  I cut the chick out of the nest and put in an egg instead.  Thanks for looking!

Herb pots for my kitchen

Here is just a quick little project.  The pots where from Micheals, they were about $1 each, then I painted them with acrylic (don't forget to seal the inside) and used cut vinyl to write the herb names. I used regular vinyl, which normally comes off when it gets wet, but I made these a week ago and have watered with no problems.  Maybe its the acrylic paint? I don't know, but it works great.  I made a couple of pots with seeds and soil to have on hand for gifts (I just put a scoop of soil in a clear cellophane bag and tied with linen thread).   Fun, quick, and inexpensive...my favorite kind of project!  Thanks for looking!

New pop up flower svg for SCAL

A few weeks ago I bought the Martha Stuart water lily punch.  I just love how the petals popped up within the flower, but the flowers aren't very big.  Don't laugh but I have been struggling since then to figure out how to do the same thing in inkscape without having to do a path exclusion (which just seems to tear my paper and make a mess).  Friday the light bulb finally went on.  So HERE is my first successful one, cut at 3 inches.  The verse is computer generated and the border is from Storybook cut at 2 inch (if cut at 2 inch it is just the right size to go across an A2 card).  For the center of the flower I just used a 1 inch circle, you could also use a button, or just leave it plain.  The card below is done with the water lily punch that was my inspiration (stamp on that one is StampinUp Garden Whimsy set).

Carsten catches a fish....

Totally random (well, sort of, you know this will be a  scrap page soon)....I have to share photos of my son catching a fish.  These were taken today.

Whats the Scoop and Birthday Cards from Straight from the Nest

I'm trying really hard not to buy any new cartridges (I want creat a critter), so I'm trying to use what I have - so many images that I've never cut!  These are from Straight from the nest.  The ice cream is cut at 3 inches, and I used a cuttlebug to emboss the parts (flannel for the base, swirls for the scoops).  The verse is just computer printed.  The bird is also at 3 inches and verse is stamped from My Favorite Things (Eat Cake set).
If you want to make an ice cream card and don't have one, there is an svg HERE from last year.   Thanks for looking!
