Fall Scarecrow Scrap page

Today's share is a quick 8x8 scrap page.  Papers are from Mr.Campy (Cosmo Cricket), FALL font is  Poplar Std.  I wish the boys hadn't been holding their helmets but we had gone back out to ad the sign and decided we didn't feel like walking - yup, our driveway is really that long...see the end of the road in the photo, that's only the half way point.  We made the scarecrow on their last day of Summer vacation using my old coveralls, Grandpa's old shirt, Andys hat and a dollar store bucket.  We put outside vinyl on the bucket for eyes and a mouth.  Andy stuck some straw under the vinyl mouth to make him look like he was chewin' on some straw... pretty cute addition I thought :).......  It was a fun project.

I haven't done much scrapping lately (since I can't really figure out my new camera and haven't been taking many photos) but  The Shabby Shop was having a scrap challenge with $25 in product up for grabs, so I thought I'd give it a go.  This was done using their free template and their products : SugarPlum Dreams kit and Holiday Magic kit.  I think we took about 20 photos trying to get Daisy to keep that hat on and look at the camera.  Thanks for looking!

Scraplift Sunday : Snow Day 2012

There is just something about Sundays that makes me want to scrap.  This week I went to look at the latest sketch on one of my favorite scraplift sites and sadly learned that they will no longer be posting :( 

Bummer.

Sounds like a good reason to get into my immense stash of scrapbook magazine clippings and start using them.  So, here is one that has been floating around my desk for over a year (that it never got tossed with the scraps is a miracle), it is from a Stampin Up magazine from a couple years ago.  My take on it is above.  The Brrr and hat are from Winter woodland, the mittens and background paper are Echo Park, the felt snowflake border is I think Queen and Co -I also used it on my new blog header :)

I've been doing something this week - taking an art journal class over at jessicasprague.com .  Today starts week 2 and I'm only half done with the week one assignments, ahhhh!

Football candy wrappers

My boys are playing flag football this year and Saturday is their last game.   I wanted to make up some goody bags for all the players and I thought some little candy wrappers were in order.  To make the wrappers I just used some digital elements from the Are you ready for some football digital scrap kit (Just So Scrappy).   I layered the football field paper over a purple rectangle (they are the purple team), added a football, and wrote touchdown.   Then I printed them out so that they were 4 x 3 to wrap around a small candy bar.  I cut the rectangles then added a strip of glue on either end, wrap around candy bar, and then crimp the end to finish it off -remember that crimper that you bought years ago and never use? Finally a reason to pull it out!  I love making personalized candy wrappers with digital elements, quick and cute, but not so cute that your recipient is afraid to eat it because they don't want to wreck it.

This week I challenged Stacie to do a scrap page.  I see she posted hers today so I thought I better get on it!  In my defense, I'm getting new carpet tomorrow so I'm trying to get painting/other stuff done, so I've not had much spare time this week (because as a SHM, I usually have SOOOO much spare time anyway, lol).

So here is my page, the three trees and the swish are done in inkscape and are today's freebie svg.  The fonts used were LD Coffeehouse (thanks Yolie) and Horseshoes and Lemonade.  Thanks for looking!

Hello Snow Scrap Page

With all the holiday craft projects, I've had no time for scrapping, but today I sat down and did a page. The elements are from Stampin Up! My Design Studio (snowflake from Winter Post, label from Frames with a Flourish, and alpine ribbon), but I did it in PSE8. Thanks for looking!

Tomorrow is Chirstmas, its practically here!

I made more of my Christmas gifts this year than ever before, and while its been a bit busy the past month, its been a lot of fun. So much so, that I'm already thinking of next years projects. There are a couple of threads going on the splitcoast forum that are strictly gift and craft show ideas. I've spent hours reading them and they are full of fun ideas that I've bookmarked for next year-but this time I'm starting earlier (I say that every year).

A few of my family read my blog so I haven't wanted to post, but today they will be here so I think its safe now. If you are family, please stop reading now, no peeking!

Now keep in mind that part of the fun, is that I kept each gift under $3 (not counting my stock items, like etching cream or essential oil) because my siblings and I are not supposed to exchange gifts.... but I figure if its under $3 it doesn't count.

For this one I used the bath tub from Everyday Paper Dolls, and the font from Storybook (done in DS). The epsom salts are Eucalyptus mint (I had no idea these were so easy to make, this will be high on my make list for next year).

Card Gift Set

This little purse was made with my score-pal, inside I have 6 handmade cards with 6 handmade (on my cricut, plantin, cut at 6 inch) matching envelopes.

And my favorite was 4x6 pocket calenders. These are just digital calender/digital stamps (stampin up from My digital studio, scrapgirls, and shabbyprincess), that I had printed out as regular 4x6. I will definitely be doing this again, but this next year, I want to do it early. I bought a psd file with the layout and thought it would be easy/quick and was just supposed to be an add on type gift. Not so, it took many hours...but they were fun hours and I love the finished project. I won't post all 12 pages, yikes, but here is a sample. Oh, and the best part of this is that once your done, you can print out as many as you like!

Today I have 7 dinner guests coming, 2 spending the next 3 days at my house. 2 more coming tomorrow to stay here 2 days. Its going to be a house full, pretty crowded for my tiny house, but so much fun! Now I'm off to make some cookies for my guests. Have a wonderful Christmas Eve!
