Wavy border SVG freebies

So I've been puting off finishing this one scrap page forever thinking it needs a wavy nautically looking border. I put it off, put it off, put it off..... finally do yesterday.  Then got the page together with the border, and hated it.  I have to start over.  BUT, I thought I would at least share the borders I made.  I cut the top one and it cut great (border was great, it was the rest of the page that sucked).   Hopefully someone can use them, you can download them HERE.  I think I'll use the one I cut for some nautical themed card or something.   Back to the drawing board....

A quick stormtrooper shirt cut with my cricut / scal

Just a quick project I did this morning for my son.  I made Andy a  Darthvader shirt a while back (see it here) and Carsten wanted one with a stormtrooper.  It had been so long since I did the first one, I forgot how.  I acidentally tried to iron the wrong side of the "first try" and it melted into a ooey gooey mess on my iron, oops.  Fortunatly I almost never use an iron, lol, so I won't mind if its messy.  I used a free coloring page I found on the web for the picture.  Now they each want one with a pirate ship, maybe I'll get that one done today too......

A quick Mothers Day card and a fushia svg

I just love hanging fushia baskets.  They will be everywhere soon, and I can't wait to get one.  With fushias on my mind, I made a quick Mothers Day card to send to a friend.  The file for the fushia is below, it is 3 layers and was drawn in Illustrator with my baboo tablet (which I'm not sure I will ever get the hang of).

Gerbera Daisy and box envelope

I've had several emails lately about the Gerbera Daisy link which has expired, so I wanted to post a new file.  I was going to tie it to the same entry but can't figure out how (I think because its over a year old), so I'm putting the link below...but if you need instruction for shaping please read the original post HERE .  I also was asked about mailing them because as you can see they are thick.....well, you have 3 options, just mail it in a reg envelope (I tried this and recipient said it made it just fine, not squished), use a padded envelope, or you can make a little box type envelope (also good for ones with bows).   The box envelope was made in inkscape so it is an svg.  The file takes a bit to cut, it makes little dots for scoring so it folds like a dream, but takes time to cut.  The dots are tiny, so no mess on your mat.  That can be downloaded below.  Regardless of how you send it, it is "hand sorted" thick, so it requires more postage...but its worth it!  Thanks for looking!

A long hello svg

I was looking for a good "hello" on my carts this weekend and could not find a single one (on 14 carts!) so I thought I'd just make one.   Of course if you have SCAL, you could just weld any ol' font, but I wanted one that had a long front and tail to go across a card. This one cut at 1 inch will span across the front of a standard A2 card.  File is below.  Have a great day!

On an unrelated note....look at this cute little boy bringing a flower to his mommy yesterday...we need to mow, but its nice that they have a pluthera of flowers to pick for me....I think this might need a scrap page.

MOM banner card

The pink stamper is having a challenge this weekend and giving away a new Create a Critter cartridge.  To enter you have to make something pink, green and black, so I made a card with the DCWV sweet stack.  I used the banner (cut at 1.75 inch) and the leaves (cut at 1.5 inch) from Straight from the Nest.  The letters for MOM were cut using Storybook at 1 inch.  On another givaway...  Deena Rutter is giving away a Storybook cartrige as well as a whole lot of other goodies over on here blog HERE so be sure to hop over there and enter for that one as well.  Thanks for looking!

Canvas Wall Hanging

I made this today for a creative team contest entry.  My chances of getting on are slim to none,  but it was a great excuse to work on this project, which I've been wanting to do for some time now.  The little 4x4 canvases are painted black-ish with acrylic, then I added photos I had colored in PSE8 (sepia-ish).  I put them on top of some decorative fish netting, and attached to 12x24 canvas (painted in cream).  The words are all cut with SCAL/black vinyl and were a PAIN to put on the canvas.  The little charms were from the jewelry section of Micheals - I was going to use real starfish, but then when push came to shove, I just couldn't stomach buying something dead for my wall.....I'm such a wimp.  Wish me luck!  Thanks for looking :)

And Baby makes three card

Here is quicky card using the Straight from the Nest cartridge.   I cut the clothesline at 4 inches, then cut the clothes pins (they are from the shift/hanger key at 1 inch).  The verse I printed on cardstock and used a punch for the edge.  I sponged  the white card base with some blue for sky-ish texture and layered my elements, poof, done...good thing because I only had 30 minutes to get the gift wrapped and the card ready.  This is about as quick and simple as you get for cardmaking, but sometimes, those are my favorites!

A Daffodil svg to share

I did this daffodil in Illustrator (I'm taking a class and this was "practice").  I cut mine with garden green and barely banana (SU), sponged the edges with so saffron ink, and then used colored pencils to add a bit of shading.  The ribbon is MarthaStuart and the stamp is SU.  The svg is linked below.  Have a wonderful Easter weekend!
