Welcome House Card for DS or SCAL

I'm taking a break from looking at HTML codes (aka, gibberish that makes my head hurt) to post a card I made a couple days ago. I made it in DS, then decided it was a bit small (DS version will fit in a standard a2 envelope) so I made an svg too. Both files include the house, extra roof, door and a little plaque to put an address on. The DS version also has the flower pot. For mine, I put the roof on with dimensional, used a brad for the door knob, and flowers cut at .5 inch. A wreath on the door would also be nice if you were using this around the holidays. The DS version is George only. The bottom half (white) opens- I tried to prop it open a bit in the photo, but its hard to tell. Happy cutting!

Excuse the mess.....

I'm trying to do my own banner and background, it will take me some time to figure out. Be back soon!

Frog in the tree

I love frogs and yesterday we saw a good sized one in the tree. I had to take some photos, how cool is this frog!

Fall Card with swirly tree svg

I'm seeing these a lot of the swirly tree lately in the card magazines. They are very cute just with cut circles, random cloud shape, decorated with buttons or flowers, or just plain with snowflakes behind (see my cricut ds verson for one of those HERE ). For this one I just used punched some circles of the same paper and put behind the tree. File below if you'd like it.

Pressed botanical wall hanging

I was weeding in the yard and found this fern growing under the swing set slide. It was so lacy and pretty, I just had to press some of it. I stuck it between some paper towels and put in my big chemistry books (yup, thousands spend on college chemistry books, and I'm using them to press ferns) and let them dry for a couple days. Then I dug out two 11 x 14 frames, painted one with black and used the glass from both to sandwich the fern. The corner element is cut from cricut Home Accents at 5 inches on black vinyl. It was hard to take a photo because of the glare, but in real life, its very pretty. Thanks for looking!

Cuttlebug Bird Call embossing folder cards

My friend showed up at my door with a new embossing folder for me - yeah! So I thought I'd post a couple cards I made with it. The first is done with Papertrey paper and the second is done with SU Soft Suede (LOVE that new color). The bottom card was just one for this weeks SCS challenge, I used PaperDolls to make the spider (2 inch). Thanks for looking!

Swim Little Fishies Scrap Page

Here is a quick scrap page I did this morning. The boys took swim lessons last month. I'm so very proud of them, they went from unable to put their face in the water to actually swimming under the water. It such a huge relief for me because we have a boat and even though they wear life jackets I worry about then falling in and getting scarred. The fishies are stamps from Papertray (pondlife) . Thanks for looking!

Fall Maple leaf svg for your cricut

If I didn't know better, looking out the window, I would say Fall is here. It rained yesterday and the boys had to play inside most of the day. They wanted some leaves to play with so I did some maple leafs on my cricut (the red ones, which he glued to fall paper). Fall is my favorite, but I do hope we get some more sunshine soon so my boys can go play outside!
Here are the files in case you need some maple leaves, the first one is traditional, the second is more pointy/lacy. Thanks for looking!

Fall Vinyl photo frame decoration

I have been having serious cricut withdrawal. We are in the process of moving furniture around and changing my craft room into my boys room (sniff) so I have not had my cricut hooked up. We ordered new carpet and found out it wouldn't be here for 3 weeks - ahhh- can't go that long so I re-hooked up my cricut. Especially when its raining out, I'm in fall decoration mode. So here's one I did yesterday. I found this ugly little gray frame at a garage sale for a quarter, sprayed it with some brown paint, then cut a piece of dp to 5x7. This is the first time I've used the QuicKutz vinyl. Boy, does it cut easy. I messed up the first couple times so let me share what I learned....blade depth 3, pressure lowest, and stronger and you have a mess (that was try 1, and 2). Also, I had never done little words. Someone on the cricut board said use painters tape -NO! that made a mess (that was try 3), defiantly clear contact paper. After 3 bad trys, I'm happy with it. It was a good practice/learning experience. The verse is down below as a svg. Thanks for looking!
