Flip top treat box for Cricut DS

My boys went on their first field trip yesterday to the local pumpkin patch/farm. It was a cold and rainy day, lots of mud expected - the kids loved the idea but I'm guessing the teachers probably were less excited. So I made each teacher a little treat to keep them warm. This was cut with Plantin schoolbook and ds (so if you have the trial version you can still cut it). There are three boxes on the file, the first one is tall for those tall cocoa packets or candy canes, or just bigger items. The second one I made big enough for hand warmers- because that's what I was sending. The third one is shorter size, good for cocoa and some marshmallows. Snowflakes from the last page are from Winterwoodland, if you don't have that cart, you can just delete and leave blank or add or your own border from a cart you have. The lip on the top is long, you can trim it if your tucking it in, but I left it long because if you want to use a border punch on it and Velcro, you can have it close on top. The pumpkins I cut from the Pooh cartridge at 3 inches. Mine were big enough for a set of hand warmers, a pack of cider, and a couple fun size candy bars. A couple more Halloween SVG's

OK, I thought I was done with Halloween stuff BUT I needed a couple little things for my walls and for t-shirt painting. So now this spooky owl is on my wall - I cut it 11.5 inches from black wall pop. The skull and crossbones is going on tshirts for boys, the swirly witch is for the girls to paint on and the rats are going all over the house as part of the Halloween scavenger hunt.

Kids Craft Thanksgiving Turkey SVG for SCAL

I know its early but..how about a start on a Thanksgiving craft project? I made this for the kids to do with their friends. I'm sizing it so that it goes 6 x 12 on the mat, doing one 6x6 square in tan (for the turkey body) and one 6x6 square in white for all the other pieces. The kids can color the feathers any way they like then assemble the project. It comes with the slits, just put the two body parts together, add some googly eyes and you have a turkey to sit on your table...gobble gobble!

Halloween Photo wall Hanging

I saw this in a book years ago and thought it was a cleaver idea. You start with a 12 x 12 chipboard base, then make strips of paper 3 x 12 inches long (12 of them) then score the paper the long ways at 1 inch, and fold to make a little pocket. Glue the one inch side to the base and you end up with pockets all the way up. Run ribbons around the edge and attach to a ring, then attach that to a hanging ribbon. You can stuff your pockets with notes or photos or whatever! I stuffed mine with photos I had attached to little index style cards - one for each year my guys have been dressing up. I have a cartridge that has some of these, but I cheated and did an svg (which is below). The little guys and ghost are from Paper Dolls and the letters I did with SCAL. Thanks for looking!

More blocks...

I have a couple more quick Halloween items to share, then I'm eager to move on with some other Holiday projects. The first is the set of block. I'm still trying to use up my block stash -its amazing how many you can cut from a $3 2x2 stick - so I made some for Halloween. Great way to use up scraps. Letters are cut from Storybook. Now off to take photos of my wall haning for the next post......

Designer's Calender Cricut Cartridge

I don't buy many cartridges but this month I've bought 3, and whats more shocking is that one was an impulse buy (I never do that!). I bought the Designers Calender cartidge without really knowing what was on it or anything about it. I did look (briefly) but couldn't find any info on it, and didn't want to "wait and see" as usual. It wasn't what I was expecting, but it is a fun cart. I can see for someone who doesn't have scal where this would be a great one to have, even with scal, I know this one will get used a lot with my kids (I'm teaching them the months) and nice to have all the words in one place. It has something for all the seasons/holidays and some school stuff too, so good for scrapping or teachers. I am posting photos in case anyone else is thinking about this cart. These are not all the pages, but enought to give you an idea of what to expect.

Jar full of spiders - EEK!

I HATE real spiders, but this time of year I can't get enough of the cute little fake ones. Inside reads, Hope your Halloween is CRAWLING with fun. The jar and the spiders were cut from Doodlecharms (jar at 4 inch, spiders at 3/4 and 1). I cut the jar from vellum, once regular and once blackout, then sandwiched the spiders in between the layers. The Eek is cut from GBS and the web punch is MS. Thanks for looking!

4th of July Scrappage

Farm Friend Goodbye card

My brother-in-law asked me to make a going away card for a friend. His requirements were farm animals on the front and something about card playing inside - hummmm, interesting combination. I used Animal Kingdom for the animals cut at 2.5-3.5 - I've had this cart a long time and never used it - now I know why...its hard to do their little faces! I have some Peachy Keen stamps for eyes, but I didn't think to use them until after, oops. The sheep are coated in fun flock, for playing cards I cut up a real one for the inside. I used brayered ink for sky and grass, and pop dots to pop up the fence. The sign is tied to the fence Su with hemp twine. Thanks for looking!
