My new laundry room foot stool decorated with vinyl (Cindy Loo)

Look at this cute stool I found at a garage sale yesterday for $1!  OK, it wasn't so cute when I bought it, but I brought it home, sanded it, painted it black, distressed it a bit, put a clear coat on it, then decorated it with vinyl...now its cute!  I have a duet washer and dryer and they are on those pedestal drawers.  Being only 5'2'' (and that's a stretch) I can never reach the cupboards above them, so I've been looking for a footstool to keep in the laundry room.  I used Cindy Loo for the elements and the vinyl is Certainly celery (from Stampin Up) and Orchid from a bulk buy I did (both are oracal brand vinyl).

I've been camping and can I just say, Moran State Park on Orcas Island is AMAZING...so very beautiful!  I can't wait to do some camping scrap pages.  But until then I wanted to post a couple of cards done with the lacy labels cart:

I've heard some complaints about the lite carts at Walmart (regarding price).  So I just wanted to take some photos of the booklet so people could see what was in them.  They are different that the have an extra function (so each button has reg/shift/function/shift-function for a total of 4 layers, instead of the solution ones that have only 2 layers).  The labels one comes with 50 labels and what I really like is the handbook-its like a fold out laminated map.

I'm hoping they do come down in price so I can buy a couple of the others, but I do think they are better than the solution carts and worth more.  Now...if you'd like a couple labels I have a few svgs.  They are only two layers, but free!  If you like the first 5, then please leave a comment and then I'll know to leave the next 5.

Enjoy summer Lemonade card share and svg freebie

Is it Summer yet?  We are not really having Summer weather here yet, but in anticipation of the event I made some Summer-y lemon/citrus svgs.  The first is just the elements for the card and is an SCUT2 file, including the scallop boarder base.  The second is the pack shown to the right and is all in svg format.   Items were drawn in inkscape by me, the Enjoy font is Ballpark wiener and the Summer was another font I had to alter to suit my needs.  For the card I used velum for the glass top layer and SU dazzling diamonds on the word Summer. Sorry for the crappy photo, but my camera is not working.  I'm trying to convince DH that I need a new one.  How am I supposed to take Summer photos to scrap if my camera doesn't work????  I took it to the beach and after that I hear a horrible noise when it opened and closed, so maybe sand and cameras don't mix?  It just hasn't taken good photos since.   All those in favor of me getting a new camera say "aye"!   In the mean time, enjoy the freebies!

My attempt at sewing a purse

I have way to much time and not enough hobbies...HAHAHAHA.  Even so, I thought it would be fun to try sewing.  I had a sewing machine that I used for minor mending and sewing on cards/scrap pages but I didn't use it enough to justify storing it, so I sold it.  And as always happens, as soon as it was gone, I needed one.  But that was OK because costco had one that had a new one out with LOTS of fun stitches....and there was a coupon (yeah!).  So now to justify that expense, I have to learn to sew.  I've done some pattern-free stuff, but yesterday was the first time I bought a pattern and (mostly) followed it.  I ended up with an extra unused piece, and I sewed a seam where there wasn't supposed to be one, but other than that, it went pretty well (I don't follow instructions very well).  The flower on front was cut with Stampin Up big shot/flower fold die I borrowed from a friend - Thanks J.  The fabric was scraps from my moms house and a pair of old jeans ready for the trash.  I really want to buy the big shot scallop die and try some of those cute little purses people are making with that, but this will have to do for now.   I did this in a couple hours, I think the little pockets filled with goodies would make a great gifts, so I'm sure I will be making many more.

Look at all those fun stitches to do on cards and scrap pages....errr...I mean to sew with!  I used the loopy one on the top of the pockets -cute!

Cindy Loo wall vinyl project

I got a few of my latest/favorite scrap pages up on my wall but they were looking a bit bare, so this weekend I added some vinyl cut with Cindy loo cartridge.  The corner flourish is cut at 6.5 inch (I scrap 8x8), the little ones are about 1.25 The words were cut with SCAL2 (font: Lucidia Bright).

I also made a set of cards for my mom (below), flower cut at 4 inch, frame is from storybook.  Thanks for looking!

Congratulations Kindergarten Graduates Scrappage, svg freebies

My boys graduated from Kindergarten!  Here is the scrap page (PSE8, papers and stars are from SC Commotion Kit).  I originally did the stick figure to put on my car but then I wasn't sure what kind of vinyl to use (indoor comes off in the rain and permanent seemed dangerous).  I test cut down to 4 inches and it is super cute, but I think much less than that and you would loose the line width and the eyes.  In anticipation of the event, I had made some other svgs, but then didn't use them.  I'm attaching those below too in case someone else can use them.  All images were drawn in inkcape by me :)

Pink Cindy Loo Squirrel card and Lacy Labels sneak peek

I have another Cindy Loo card to share.  The squirrel is cut at 2 inches, the hello at 3/4.  The wood grain stamp is Stampin Up. 

Also today I had to exchange something at Walmart, they were fully stocked with the new carts. Unfortunately I didn't have a camera, so I can only share photos of the lacy labels. I'm not letting myself open it yet (I have to earn it clocking some exercise hours). But in the meantime, enjoy the sneak peek below....

My first Cindy Loo cards

I have such a busy weekend, guests, kids party etc, that I should NOT be playing, but Thursday my new Cindy Loo cart came and I have no discipline so I had to just make a couple quick cards.  I love scal, but even scal owners will want this one.  It is loaded with great frames, card verses, flourishes, boarders and flowers with all the layers.  I've had a little taste and come Monday I'm sending the kids to school and digging in...until then I have to tell myself to  "step away from the cricut" and tend to other things.  Have a great weekend!
